Clarissa Reyes Falcon

FALCON PRINCIPAL

With over 25 years of experience, Clarissa Reyes Falcon has demonstrated expertise in the government, community, and non-profit arenas.

Clarissa served as District Chief of Staff for the 40th California State Senate District represented by Senator Denise Moreno Ducheny from April 2003 until November 2010, overseeing three district offices in Chula Vista, El Centro, and Coachella. She fostered excellence in the staff by promoting a cohesive team environment and high-quality work performance that helped to bolster the reputation of the Senator’s office.

Prior to working for Senator Ducheny, Clarissa worked as key staff on public policy for the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation (SDREDC). In that capacity, she helped to develop the organization’s public policy priorities and provided regular communication to elected officials and partner organizations on the SDREDC’s strategic goals and mission.  

In November 2010, Clarissa started Falcon Strategies LLC., a firm that provides government and community relations consulting to both public and private entities including Metropolitan Air Park LLC, the Port of San Diego, BioMed Realty, SANDAG, Dart Container Corporation, SDG&E, and Simon Properties. Using her extensive knowledge and experience in coalition building and public policy Clarissa serves a broad spectrum of clients in navigating complicated government processes and strategic approaches to engaging with the public.

In continuing her service to her community, Clarissa has recently been appointed to the California Transportation Commission by Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins. Clarissa formerly served on the San Diego River Conservancy Governing Board; appointed by Governor Jerry Brown. She has also served as a Commissioner on the San Diego County Commission on the Status of Women appointed by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.  She is past Chair of the South County Economic Development Council, and sits on the boards of the UCSD Chancellor’s Community Advisory Board, South Bay Family YMCA, Circulate San Diego and serves on the Energy and Water Committee at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, Clarissa was recognized by State Assemblymember and Assembly Appropriations Chair, Lorena Gonzalez as a Woman of the Year in the 80th Assembly District.

Clarissa received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Literature from the UC San Diego’s Thurgood Marshall College in 1994. She resides in Bonita with her husband, Michael Falcon, and children, Benjamin and Ella.
